Looking for someone with NICU experience to help me nurse my baby that was identified with spina bífida. Baby will have surgery as soon as they are born and will spend some time in the nicu. I am unsure what special needs they will have besides the healing time of surgery to close up the spinal opening.

Latching help and positioning help with breastfeeding a newborn
I live in Hollister, but I will be giving birth at Kaiser in San Jose, CA, and I’m looking for a supportive, trauma-informed doula for both birth and postpartum care. I would love someone familiar Latina postpartum traditions (preferred), such as rebozo support, gentle bone closing/cerrada de cadera, emotional support, and holistic healing practices, and lacataion support. I’m hoping for someone warm, calming, and nonjudgmental who can support both me and my partner through labor, recovery, breastfeeding, and postpartum mental health. I’m especially interested in postpartum support that helps me feel grounded, safe, and cared for after birth. I have Kaiser and would prefer someone in-network.
inverted nipples, painful latch, increasing milk supply
•Latch support- my baby favors one side (left) but is still not great at latching and staying on to nurse fully. I need a lot of help with the right side, she doesn’t like to feed on the side and screams at it when it’s right in front of her or even in her mouth ready to go. •Staying latched- my baby can latch fine on the left side, however falls off after three-five suckles and then will reattach over and over. She’s still hungry after doing this for sometimes 10, 15, 20, or 25 minutes but is exhausted for all the reattaching. •Milk supply- this is my second pregnancy so my milk came in very quickly. It feels like and pumps like a slight over supply. I have no issue with supply but my boobs are full and my baby isn’t consuming enough through breastfeeding. I’ve had to start pumping to get the milk out. My baby is then fed the milk through Dr. Brown bottles because she’s exhausted from trying for 45minutes to an hour. •My baby is only a week old, so this might be a premature request. I know it takes time, but I’m hoping for some support so I can help them established with this and feel full after breastfeeding.
I need to work with a lactation consultant on increasing my supply and helping my baby latch for longer periods of time
