Excited for this journey! I am giving birth at Kaiser Redwood City. Ideally I am looking for those who have worked with Kaiser insurance as I have doula coverage (I was referred to Kristin Guess). Birthplan is quite standard: prioritize non medical interventions, epidural, no IV pain meds, skin to skin, delayed cord clamping, preemptive nausea control, dim lights, breast feeding, delayed bath. Likely circumcision care. Requirements of provider: Certified, evidence based guidance (though not in OBGYN, my husband and I work in healthcare). I plan to hire a post partum nanny for the first 2 months following birth, however, would love additional support as an additional perspective. Also month 3 would be great for additional support (sleep training, lactation consulting, etc). Budget is flexible but would like to prioritize Kaiser Doula coverage first.
I’m a single mom and I’m having c-section. I would like to know what kind of assistance I can get. I was passing through difficult moments in my life that I feel it can affect the baby.
Looking for short term doula (1 week or less) must be in network with United
I am looking for a postpartum doula with experience supporting families beyond the immediate newborn stage, ideally someone with at least a few years of experience and a calm, non-judgmental approach. It’s important that they are comfortable supporting a combination of breastfeeding, pumping, and bottle feeding without a rigid philosophy. Certification is preferred but not required if they have strong experience. My baby is 2 months old, born early at 37 weeks via c-section due to fetal growth restriction. He is small but healthy, and feeding has been a big focus for us. I am currently breastfeeding, pumping, and supplementing with fortified bottles. I am looking for support a couple of times per week, primarily during the daytime, to help me get breaks and prepare for my husband returning to work. Responsibilities would include help with feeding, soothing, and caring for the baby, as well as light household tasks such as washing bottles and pump parts, baby laundry, tidying, and simple meal prep. I am not looking for formal sleep training, but would appreciate gentle guidance around establishing a sustainable daily rhythm. I have Kaiser Northern California insurance and am hoping to work with someone who is able to bill Kaiser or provide appropriate documentation for reimbursement. Budget is flexible depending on experience and coverage.
I am looking for an overnight doula for 3 nights in the hospital to support taking care of my new born baby at night for 8 hrs. I will be undergoing a c-section and we don't have overnight nursery facility in our hospital. I am willing to pay $35-50/hr but open to negotiation.
Hi there! We’re first-time parents expecting in a few weeks and are currently looking for a postpartum support doula. We have Anthem HMO, which covers doula services, and were hoping to see if you accept this insurance. We know we may be reaching out a bit late, but we’re wondering if you might still have availability or be able to offer any postpartum support. Thank you so much—we’d love to connect!
I will be given birth in Mills-Peninsula. I want to maximum out what my insurance can cover for hiring a doula. I don’t have a birth plan yet.
- Requirement: Accepts Kaiser insurance for covered postpartum doula services. - Would be great if provider also had availability for night needs that could be paid additionally / out of pocket (since I know Kaiser does not cover night services). This can also be a separate provider. - Would like a provider with at least 2 years of experience working with newborns / newborn families. - Spanish as a second language would be a bonus, but not a requirement. - Requirement: must be OK with cats in the home, we have two kitties that share a space with us! If you are a cat lover, that is a big plus.
My wife and I are looking for a doula to periodically look after our newborn during the day if one or both of us need to go somewhere. So it’ll be as needed for now, but in a few months, if desired, it could become more regular (when I go back to work). Location is Bernal Heights in San Francisco. Our son was born on April 28, about five weeks early. He’s now at 40 weeks, and is healthy and doing great. The nurses at UCSF said he’s the cutest/best baby.
Hi Joanna, My Wife and I are expecting our first child soon, with a due date of August 23rd :) We're looking for a Doula for both birthing and postpartum services, ideally who can accept both Kaiser and Carrot benefits - Please let me know if you have availability and can accept either or both our insurance, if so we'd love to connect! Thanks, Lucas
Hello, My name is Adèle and I’m currently expecting my first child, due August 23. My partner, Lucas, and I live in the Mission in San Francisco and are currently looking for a doula to support us during birth and postpartum period. We are planning a hospital birth through Kaiser at the Redwood City Birth Center, and ideally are looking someone in-network with Kaiser and able to accept Carrot benefits. A little about us: we’re a French/German-American couple in our 30s, and this is our first baby. I tend to be thoughtful and preparation-oriented, and I’m looking for someone calm, grounded, emotionally attuned, and experienced supporting first-time parents. My hope is for a supportive and relatively low-intervention birth experience if medically appropriate, while staying flexible and pragmatic (not too attached to anything). I would love someone who can help us feel informed, supported, and steady throughout labor and the early postpartum transition. If it sounds like we may be a good fit, we'd love to connect and hear more about your approach, availability around my due date, pricing/packages, and experience with Kaiser and Carrot benefits. Warmly, Adèle
Hi, my wife and I are looking for a newborn care specialist to look after our newborn during the night for 2-3 months. We're flexible on the days/hours. Location is Bernal Heights in San Francisco. We plan to give birth in UCSF Mission Bay. Budget is ~$65/hour.
My name is Saaid Arshad, my wife and I were blessed with a baby boy on March 20th. As I'm sure you're aware, the joy has been accompanied by lots of work and sleepless nights. I currently have to be in Massachusetts for work until early May. My wife (her name is Rimsha) has support with her mother but it's not enough right now, so we'd like to be able to get the support of a doula for postpartum support ASAP. Please let me know if you have time to talk and potential availability in the coming weeks. Thank you! Saaid
Hello, I was looking for a doula that was at least partially covered by Kaiser, Northern California. I was hoping to receive some prenatal, labor and delivery, and potentially some postpartum care (ideally more time that is alloted from Kaiser, and willing to pay out of pocket for the additional hours). Mostly looking for help with emotional support, education, and recovery support. Thanks and I look forward to hearing back! Kristine
We are looking for a Doula to help us during the birth if applicable and a few hours a week postpartum to give mom and I a break. We will be giving birth via induction on May 15, 2026 at 1:30pm at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in San Francisco, California. Kaiser allows $3,900 in coverage so that is our budget. We would like the provider to be certified and at least 5 years of hands on experience, My wife will be 37 (few days away from 38) during time of birth but no special needs are necessary. During birth, a provider than can give additional support (massages, care for Mom so Dad can rest if needed, help answer questions/educate us). Postpartum, someone that can help clean up around the apartment, help with chores, possibly cook, help ensure we're swaddling and feeding correctly, etc) Estimated Budget = $3,999 paid in full by Kaiser - our insurance company
Hi Joanna, I hope you’re doing well! I’m currently 32 weeks pregnant and starting to look for a doula - my due date is 7/11. I’m insured with Kaiser and have doula benefits, so I wanted to ask if you accept Kaiser insurance? I’d also love to check your availability around my due date, and learn a bit more about your practice. Looking forward to hearing from you! Olga Bienias 267-670-4229
I am looking for a day time postpartum doula starting in February or March 2026. I only want someone who can work with Cigna insurance (i.e., need to have doula certification, NPI number). My baby will be 3 months old and we need some help during the day as I deal with postpartum.
My name is Haleigh, and I’m currently expecting and looking into doula support. I came across your information and would love to learn more about your services and see if we might be a good fit. I’d love to hear about your approach, availability around my due date (April 21st), and what support you offer during pregnancy and birth. If you’re available, my husband and I would be happy to set up a quick call or meeting to connect and ask a few questions. Thanks so much—I look forward to chatting!
