What's the Cost of Hiring a Midwife in North Miami Beach, FL?

The cost of a midwife in North Miami Beach, FL, can vary depending on factors such as the midwife's experience, services provided, and whether the care is for a home birth, birthing center, or hospital support. On average, midwifery services for a full prenatal, delivery, and postpartum care package might range from $3,000 to $6,000. Some midwives may offer payment plans, and costs could be partially covered by insurance depending on your provider and plan. It is best to contact local midwives directly for specific pricing and details.

The cost of a midwife in North Miami Beach, FL can be influenced by several factors:

  • Type of Midwife

Certified Nurse-Midwives (CNMs) who work in hospital settings may have different pricing than Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) who attend home births or birth center deliveries.

  • Birth Setting

Hospital births with a midwife typically cost less out-of-pocket when covered by insurance, while home births and birth center deliveries may have different fee structures.

  • Scope of Services

Many midwives offer comprehensive packages that include prenatal visits, labor and delivery support, and postpartum care, which can affect the overall cost.

  • Insurance Coverage

Whether insurance covers the cost of a midwife in North Miami Beach, FL, depends on your specific insurance plan and the midwife's credentials. Many insurance plans, including Medicaid, may cover midwifery services if the midwife is licensed and in-network with your insurance provider. Coverage can vary based on whether the birth occurs at home, in a birthing center, or at a hospital. It’s important to contact your insurance company to verify coverage details, including copays, deductibles, and whether preauthorization is required. Additionally, check with the midwife to ensure they accept your insurance.

  • Experience and Specialization

Midwives with extensive experience, additional certifications, or specializations such as VBAC support or water birth may charge higher rates.

  • Geographic Location

Midwifery costs can vary based on the cost of living and demand for midwifery services in your specific area.

When considering hiring a midwife in North Miami Beach, FL, it's advisable to research and interview several midwives to find one who aligns with your birth plan, preferences, and budget. During consultations, you can discuss their specific services, insurance acceptance, and pricing structure to ensure you have a clear understanding of what is included and the associated costs.

Alejandra Latorre

10 years of experience

I believe birth is a sacred, God-given gift—a natural, physiological process that reflects the original design of women and babies: women are capable of giving birth, and babies know how to be born. My name is Monica Alejandra Latorre, and I am deeply passionate about women’s wellness, birth, and motherhood. As a traditional, faith-based birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, newborn care specialist, and fertility awareness educator, I bring over nine years of experience walking alongside women and families through life’s most tender transitions. My vocation is to mother the mother: supporting women as they reconnect with their innate feminine wisdom, dignity, and God-given strength. I believe birth is a holy rite of passage, and it is a profound honor to serve women and their families in these sacred spaces. With deep reverence, I offer my presence, guidance, and resources so that each mother feels supported, informed, and confident as she moves through her unique journey. It is a privilege to be invited into a mother’s birth story, to hold space with tenderness, and to walk alongside her through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My deepest hope is that every mother I serve finds her voice, trusts her intuition, and feels deeply connected to her body, her birth, and her baby.

Alejandra was amazing and such an essential part of me getting to know this beautiful extraordinary process that is bringing life to this earth through my body. Thank you so much for making me understand the beauty of birth. In a world full of fears and doubts. This is the most natural human process God designed us women to go through. Thanks again for being so attentive during the prenatal process and postnatal as well.

My name is Samantha Dorleus, and I’m from Miami, Florida. I’m the youngest of my older siblings, and growing up, I’ve always taken on the role of caretaker for my younger cousins. As my older sister and brother had children, it became second nature for me to help care for my nephews. When I found out I was pregnant, I knew I was ready for the journey ahead. Becoming a mother has been the most amazing experience of my life! Watching my daughter grow from a tiny baby in my belly to the beautiful little sunflower she is today has been truly incredible. Now that she’s 5 years old, I know I still have so much to learn as she continues to grow, but I’m beyond grateful to have her in my life. With my extensive experience caring for children since a young age, I’ve worked in after-school programs, summer camps, and preschools since 2015. Caring for children is something I’ve always loved and admired. I am now certified as a Doula and look forward to providing services to elevate and advocate for mothers, especially by offering postpartum/prenatal care. It’s my mission to support women as they navigate this beautiful but sometimes overwhelming journey of motherhood. I’m currently a full-time mom and, in my spare time, I enjoy cooking, crafting, working out, and finding new ways to support my daughter’s growth and development. I also love exploring new foods, with Caribbean cuisine being one of my favorites! I’m excited to offer my services and look forward to being of help to you all.

Hello love! My name is Heidi, I was raised in Queens, NY & living in Florida since 2008. I love coffee, my camera, books, nature walks with my husband and cuddles with our fur baby Leo. When I am not cuddling with Leo I spend a lot of my time nurturing my deeply growing passion for my work as a birth doula & photography, My heart's calling is mothering the mother during the threshold that IS giving birth. I bring a grandmother presence to the room, I am here in loving service to you, to be present and guide you because birth can be hard and a lot of work, but it can also be extremely magical and deeply empowering. I can remember My first encounter with Birth as a photographer and it was that moment I knew how precious and significant birth is, from then on all I wanted was to be a part of those Magical moments with my camera or/and as a birth doula. Being a doula is being in service to the Mother-and it would be my honor to be chosen and given the opportunity to cross paths during one of the most life changing altering experiences a woman can experience and that is YOU now. congratulations! life is a Miracle and it is you! <3

Heidi was absolutely amazing! From our first meeting to the birth, she was incredible helpful and knowledgeable. She provided us with so many helpful tools to get us through the birth and supported us every step of the way. She never made us feel rushed and always gave special attention to our older daughter. She was so great with her which was so helpful! She never overstepped any boundaries and was always there when we needed her. I am beyond grateful that we had Heidi as part of our team for Lily's birth! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula.
