Postpartum doulas can be a game changer for twin families because they provide practical support, emotional reassurance, and hands-on help during the transition to life with two newborns. They assist with overnight soothing, feeding routines, and newborn care, giving you relief during recovery and reducing the risk of burnout. With twins, the demands scale quickly, so a doula can help set up efficient routines, model safe handling and swaddling, and offer evidence-based tips for sleep, pumping, and feeding logistics. They also provide companionship and nonjudgmental listening, which can be invaluable as you adjust to the new family dynamic. Importantly, they can coordinate with your healthcare team, connect you to local resources, and help you carve out time for rest and for bonding with each baby, promoting your health and confidence as a new parent of two.

Dear Pippa, My husband Sam and I are expecting our second child in mid September of this year. Sam will take off one week to ten days for paternity leave and then another week or so later in the year. We have a two year old son (Hugo) who will be in school from 8:30 to 1:30 Monday through Friday. I would like to speak with you about our specific needs, but I think it would be something like three days for five hours in the first week I’m home from the hospital, five days for five hours the next week, and then maybe two or three days for four hours the week after that. If you have availability to help us, it would be great to speak with you on the phone. Thank you, Nora Watson
I am looking for either a labor doula or a postpartum doula. If my baby is born via cesarean, I'm looking for a labor doula who can provide postpartum services instead- so someone who is flexible to switching should my labor needs change closer to my due date.

Looking to get more information on a night nurse who can help first time parents after the birth of our baby. We would ideally be looking only for nights, for roughly 2 weeks after the baby is born so that we can rest and then get support for feeding, bathing, and getting used to a newborn. We are going to deliver at the Morgan Stanley children’s hospital in NYC and our estimated budget is 30.00/hour.
We are looking for a postpartum doula that can help us with the night shift. Our hope is to manage the newborn’s needs at nighttime so we can potentially get some sleep. We’d also appreciate any light cleaning.
