We are very new to this community but we are looking for someone who can help us bring our first child into this world from the comfort of our home. I prefer a very natural birth and someone with previous experience with first time parents. We are unsure how to formulate a birth plan but are slowly trying to piece things together.

Hi! I am a first-time mother. I recently went through a miscarriage in April and have a lot of health anxiety regarding this pregnancy. I plan to deliver at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL. I have never had any type of hospital procedure and would like to have an advocate during birth as I struggle to trust medical staff who are bound to hospital policies and/or preferences. I am established with Midwest Women's Health under Dr. O'Malley. My budget is flexible, I am not sure what doulas charge or what services are offered, and would be happy to discuss. As for my birth plan, I want a vaginal delivery. I do want an epidural. I do not want to be induced, or have AROM unless in an emergency. If there is any chance of induction or stalled labor, I want a c-section. My baby is not to leave my sight. We plan to opt out of Hep B vaccine and erythromycin ointment, but we will be doing RSV and oral Vitamin K at birth. I am concerned about pushback from staff regarding this. We will be opting for circumcision if baby is male (no Plastibell method). I plan to exclusively breastfeed. My fiancé wants to be involved as much as possible. I have a more in-depth birth plan that I am happy to share!
