Trouble with constant/reoccurring clogged milk ducts, ineffecient emptying, and painful swelling/tenderness. Issues lumping and finding correct flange size.
I request a provider that accepts Anthem BCBS COVACARE insurance. While I understand home visits mah not be covered by insurance, I would ask that prices regarding home visits be included even if not covered by insurance. Re issue: Baby did great with finding nipple as a newly born baby but her latch is not very wide, which results in a lot of pain for mom and insufficient feedings for baby. I worked with a lactation consultant in the hospital on the day of my discharge (6/10/26)who provided advice that worked right then and there. I tried to mimic advice at home, but baby seems to have regressed in her ability to now find the nipple and still struggles to open wide, despite mom putting nipple to upper lip or mom playing with chin to get her to open wide or trying the "flipple." I really would love hands on help with the latch so I can effectively feed baby without pain (her shallow latch results in strong pinching instead of a pulling feeling), and to understand how to help baby find nipple so she doesn't get sad and cry. I've been supplementing with formula and baby's weight check with pediatrician looked good but trying to get this figured out sooner than later would be great.
