Mission~~~ I am a “pick-your-own-adventure” kind of doula! With tailored care to your unique dreams for this journey, we navigate the waves with a spirit of confidence and bravery. I promise both to help you find the strength from the Lord that He has already given you and ensure informed consent, so that you may be at peace with the choices you make for you and your baby. ~~~Impact: My passion is to help women reclaim their confidence in their God-given intuition, and ability to trust their body & this process. My goal is not a specific birth for mothers - my goal is that after working with me, they are able to look back on their birth and say, beaming with pride, “I could do that again”. Birth is hard - but it doesn’t have to be traumatic. My aim is to help create a day that is beautiful, that doesn’t elicit a stress response when remembered. (And bring fun into birth, whenever possible!) Tulip Doula Services celebrates our beautiful, heaven ordained biology as women - honoring our sex’s special gift to be our babies’ first home, of mothering, and to be a mother! My present calling is to help women discover that they are STRONG, ABLE, & RESILIENT.
Working with Sarah was one of the best decisions we made during our pregnancy journey. From our very first meeting, she brought a calming presence, deep knowledge, and genuine compassion that made us feel supported every step of the way. She took the time to understand our birth preferences, answered every question with patience and clarity, and helped us feel informed about what decisions were coming our way. Although Sarah wasn’t able to be present at our birth due to unforeseen circumstances, we still had an incredibly positive experience thanks to her thoughtful preparation and the amazing support provided by her backup doula, Christina. When labor began, Christina stepped in seamlessly—clearly a reflection of Sarah’s dedication to building a strong and reliable support network. Christina was phenomenal - intuitive, encouraging, and provided unwavering support and reassurance during a long induction. As a first time mom, she made me feel confident, safe, and supported throughout the entire experience. We even managed to have some laughs along the way during active labor. I'm certain that without Christina by our side, we would've had a much different experience. Sarah and Christina's support didn’t end at birth! They also checked in with us postpartum to help us process our birth experience, offering guidance and kindness that made the transition into recovery and parenthood feel less overwhelming. Because of Sarah and Christina, we walked away with a positive birth experience despite having a labor and birth that didn't go as we planned. It’s clear she’s deeply passionate about what she does, and her dedication shines through in every interaction. We’re so grateful for Sarah and would wholeheartedly recommend her to any family looking for a nurturing, knowledgeable, and truly exceptional birth doula.

Peace, my name is Shantique Smith-Hayes and I am a Certified Holistic Birth and Postpartum Doula in Milwaukee, WI. I am the Wife to an amazing Husband, and Mother of two lovely Daughters- ages 8 and almost 3. In my free time I love to lay out on my couch, in front of my big patio windows, cup of tea in hand, sun beaming, watching Nature do its thing. I enjoy traveling, reading books that make me feel good, painting, letting my inner child shine, and indulging in flavorful foods– Soul Food, Jamaican Food, Carribean Food, Mexican Food, you name it! I am authentically and purposefully myself. I take pride in having such a bright, Sunflower Aura. My philosophy is that every mother and baby, regardless of circumstances at time of conception, should have access to quality, personal, supportive care. As a Holistic Doula, my approach to pregnancy and childbirth recognizes that a woman's body is naturally designed to conceive, nourish, and give birth to their baby(ies). Our wombs are our centers and do far more than produce babies: they give birth to the power in us. I am a firm believer that the more you know, the less you fear. In my practice, I review the different phases of labor, positioning of baby and pain management techniques to help cope with the discomforts of contractions. I educate women of their birthing rights and help create an individualized birth plan, ensuring that they feel confident advocating for themselves and their healthy birthing experience. I offer 1:1 individualized prenatal wellness education on topics such as: prenatal care, pregnancy related physical and emotional changes, childbirth, breastfeeding, postpartum changes, parenting roles, and newborn care and safety. My doula work involves gentle practices such as breathwork and gentle stretching, utilizing herbal medicine, taking meditative walks in nature, intuitive painting, aromacaress therapy with infused oils and essential oils, and gentle womb massages. Each of these practices has a unique way of showing us who we really are- unmasked, vulnerable, courageous and bold. These practices equip women with the tools necessary for a safe, successful and memorable pregnancy and birthing experience; all of which in turn reduces the risk of undesirable pregnancies and birth outcomes in black maternal health.
Shantique was the doula for a patient I was caring for recently. Our mother desired an unmedicated, natural birth. She was highly motivated and successful with her plan much due to the coaching provided by Shantique. She was professional and knowledgeable about the labor process. She was by her side the entire time to encourage the patient and reassure her even when she thought she couldn't do it anymore. I enjoyed working with Shantique and look forward to working with her again! Sincerely, Lynne RN

Hi, my name is Alexia and I am a birth doula. First, I’d like to say congratulations! This is such a beautiful journey you are starting. I have been doing childcare for about 8 years. I previously worked as a lead teacher in infant/toddler classrooms. Once I decided it was time for change, I became a daycare director. During that time, I found my love for being a support system for the parents and families. I am currently in nursing school, hoping to become a midwife. I also work as a nanny. I absolutely love what I do, and I hope you choose me to embark on this journey with you. I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
Lexi is attentive, patient, kind, and empathetic. She will truly listen and take your goals and concerns into consideration. She advocates and supports you in any way she can and has always been professional while sharing all of the knowledge she has regarding pregnancy, postpartum, and all things newborns and infants. Her calm demeanor makes her a natural caregiver as a doula and a nanny. We are so lucky to have found Lexi!

Preparing your mind is so important for this whole process, and I have many tools to support you and your partner emotionally and in faith, you are wonderfully made! It's important for your support person to be educated as well and I enjoy teaching couples how to use this time to improve communication and strengthen your relationship. Most of all, I'm there for you. My style is flexible and definitely customized - no two moms are alike:).
Working with Susan for my first pregnancy was the best thing I did for my family. She immediately made me feel seen and cared for. Susan is extremely knowledgeable and supportive. She helped me not only prepare my body but also my mind for labor. She made home visits and virtual visits so I always felt supported and helped my husband understand birth and how to support me and our baby. We ended up with an unscheduled induction and with Susan’s experience I was able to have as natural of a birth as possible. She gave me the peace of mind during labor to ensure my birth plan was being followed and allowed me to just listen to my body and focus on birth. I had a great first pregnancy/birth experience and couldn’t have done it without Susan!

I am the proud owner of Grounded Mama LLC, and I have completed the Holistic Doula Certification through The Motrona. I hold a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management and a master’s degree in healthcare administration. My passion for supporting families during birth and postpartum periods stems from my own journey with infertility. My husband and I faced the challenges of infertility for six years before conceiving our oldest daughter through IVF and our youngest daughter naturally. Each of my pregnancies and births was different from what I had imagined. I entered motherhood with a sense of naivety and quickly encountered postpartum depression and anxiety. I struggled during my early motherhood journey because I did not realize how important it was to feel grounded in order to be the best version of myself as a mom. With Grounded Mama Doula Services, my goal is to uplift mothers and be a part of their support system. I aim to help them feel grounded throughout their motherhood journey, both during birth and postpartum, by addressing their needs and wants.

I am a NICU RN and IBCLC that provides advanced lactation consults in your home. I take insurances and have experience with the utmost feeding challenges from Prematurity to tongue ties and everything inbetween. We have over 20 years of lactation experience personally and are breastfeeding moms! We have multiple IBCLC’s available to suit your needs.
Stephanie was an important professional during my pregnancy and postpartum experience. I did not have a good breastfeeding experience with my first child, and I wanted to make sure I had support with the second. Her consultation with me before giving birth gave important education and support. I felt prepared for breastfeeding after giving birth, and seeing Stephanie at my house during the first week postpartum was incredible. She was professional, knowledgable, and relatable during my time of need, and I am grateful to have found her as support in the specialized area of lactation.

As a certified doula of color with extensive training in lactation support, birth, postpartum care, and infant feeding (including baby-led weaning), I am deeply committed to providing safe and empowering care for women and all birthing individuals. Recognizing the historical disparities in modern medicine for women of color, my practice centers on ensuring you, your baby, and your family feel secure and well-supported throughout your prenatal, birthing, and postpartum journey. I reside in the Milwaukee area but am willing to travel within the state of Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
After having two traumatic birth experiences caused by negligent doctors I decided for my third and final pregnancy that I would take a leap of faith and go with a doula to advocate for me and make sure my final birth experience would be on MY terms. With the help of Brianna and my midwife team, I had an extremely peaceful and empowering unmedicated birth experience with no interventions from any doctor. I had complete and total faith and trust in Brianna to make decisions that I would make after extensive conversations and consultations about what my ideal birth experience would look like. Brianna took all of my stress and worry away and I was able to 100% focus on the flows of active labor and she supported me through it 100%. And she not only supported me through birth, but the days that followed. I wish I had gone this route with my previous two but how lucky am I that I got to have this experience the third time around.
