I am a first time mom looking for a Doula to come and spend time with me and my newborn (3/19/26 DOB) and provide education and assistance as we make this transition. Giving birth at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital. Insurance coverage - Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Hoping to have a vaginal birth. Kneeling birthing position (not on back unless absolutely necessary). Unable to have an epidural. Hospital has minimal pain management options (maybe some local because I asked about it. No to nitrous, they don't do that here, mixed opiate if absolutely necessary. If C-section is required, general anesthesia is necessary.) Mother, former nanny, will be at the hospital for the birth.
