My name is Aarani Montanari and I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant with a passion for helping mamas, babies and families on their feeding journeys and the transition to new parenthood. My passion for helping moms began when I experienced my own difficult transition to motherhood in 2021. I struggled with breastfeeding my son and subsequently struggled with postpartum anxiety and depression. Finding an amazing IBCLC to help me reach my breastfeeding goals as well as finding a support system of new moms saved me and helped me discover the joy in motherhood. It is this experience that inspired me to become an IBCLC - I know how much of a difference it can make to have support in this vulnerable transition time to motherhood and I want you to know I am here for you every step of the way. I cannot wait to meet you and your sweet little one!
Breastfeeding can be quite the journey of highs and lows, and I probably would have given up if it wasn't for Aarani! She is a gem of a human being, a great and compassionate listener, and a very knowledgeable and talented lactation consultant. She has a unique ability to make you feel heard and respected, all while providing guidance and expert advice in a non-judgmental way. She helped immensely with my baby's latch difficulties, and you can tell she truly cares. I am still nursing today, in large part thanks to Aarani! I would highly recommend her to any breastfeeding mom.

I was extremely anxious during my second pregnancy after having a miscarriage during my first. I didn’t know what to do and had many questions with just about everything. Cheyenne was very patient, friendly, and professional. She answered about every question I had and provided me with great support. I was about to relax a little bit with her around. I will definitely work with her again the next time around.

Ashley's journey into the realm of motherhood was marked by challenges, particularly with postpartum anxiety following the birth of her son. The experience, not aligning with her envisioned childbirth, significantly impacted her postpartum transition. This prompted Ashley to delve into the intricacies of childbirth, recognizing a pressing need for maternal support during both the birthing process and postpartum period.Motivated by her own transformative experience, Ashley decided to pursue a homebirth with her daughter, finally obtaining the birthing and postpartum support she had sought. This pivotal moment inspired her to undergo comprehensive training as a birth and postpartum doula. Ashley's commitment to her role is evident in her diverse training background, including certifications from CAPPA, Newborn Mothers Collective, and Birth Arts International. Ashley is currently undergoing training to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and is actively accepting clients under the guidance of her mentor. As part of her commitment to supporting mothers, Ashley extends special discounts for those opting for homebirth and for repeat birth clients.
We had a great experience with Ashley! She was always available and able to help during both the prenatal and postpartum periods. Her questions were thoughtful and helped me think through our priorities, understand my anxieties, and offer great suggestions for both the birth and postpartum periods. Ashley was at my birth, which was really fast so there was not much time for anything, but she was great at helping my husband know how to be helpful during the birth and offered really good massage and lactation support. She knew my birth preferences front to back and was helpful as the go-between when necessary. She were especially good at calming me down while I was waiting to go into labor and offering tips to activate labor. She is a wealth of knowledge and a fabulous support system during such a vulnerable time.

It's said that breastfeeding a baby is the most natural thing in the world, but it doesn't always come naturally. Like many new parents, I experienced a few challenges while breastfeeding my own children. I want to help others avoid or overcome similar difficulties, if possible. The nursing dyad is such a special relationship and I want as many people as possible to get a chance to experience it. Here in America, lactation consultants are often the only health professional visiting a new family in their home, and sometimes we are the only health care worker seeing a new mom in the first six weeks postpartum. I feel really lucky to be one of the first people to meet the new baby! An IBCLC is a unique professional for your family's unique needs. We are small parts sister, friend, nurse, doula, nutritionist, therapist, parenting coach, biology teacher, and detective! We are an important part of your postpartum support system!
I can't recommend Sharla enough! From our very first meeting, she provided a warm and welcoming environment that made me feel at ease during a time that can be quite overwhelming. Her knowledge and expertise in lactation were evident, and she patiently answered all my questions, ensuring I understood every step of the breastfeeding process. What I appreciated the most was her personalized approach. She took the time to understand my unique situation and tailored her advice accordingly. Her encouragement and practical tips made a significant difference in my breastfeeding journey. I felt empowered and supported throughout, which was invaluable. If you are looking for a compassionate and knowledgeable lactation consultant, look no further than Sharla. I am so grateful for her support, and I am confident that she can help anyone seeking assistance with breastfeeding! Thank you, Sharla, for everything!

Hi, I'm Meghan! I’m an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant who was inspired to work in the field after my own breastfeeding experiences. I have been working in the behavioral health/social work field for the past 15 years and have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. After several meetings with my own lactation consultant for my son, I realized that this was the profession I wanted to pursue. I earned my Master’s degree in Human Lactation Studies, interned at a local hospital, and am now an IBCLC. With my professional background and trauma-informed approach, I can provide you with unique and well-rounded care.

Hi, I’m Kathleen Stern—a certified postpartum and birth doula, certified infant feeding specialist and an IBCLC candidate (international board certified lactation consultant), expecting to be certified in 2026. I love working with parents to offer real-time relief and practical tips and to remind them that they’re doing a great job. My goal is to build your confidence and provide relief so that you feel better when my visit ends. Whether you’re a first-time parent feeling nervous/excited or thinking “I don’t know what I don’t know,” or a seasoned parent looking for some more relief this time around, I’ve got you! Prior to working with infants and families, I earned a Masters in Teaching and had a rewarding 15-year education career— teaching students (mostly middle school English), coaching teachers, and helping others recognize their own strengths. I got into the perinatal world after I had a colicky baby in 2014 and was filled with exhaustion, self-doubt, and conflicting advice from well-meaning family and friends. I knew there must be a better way. For my second baby, I worked with a postpartum doula to provide me with the nonjudgmental, hands-on support I knew I would need. The difference between my first and second postpartum experiences prompted me to become a doula and lactation professional. My best advice for expecting families is, “Reach out for help before you think you need it. You're not supposed to be able to do this by yourself.” I live in the North Shore with my 11 and 8 year-old daughters and labradoodle. When I’m not with my family or holding babies, I love to garden, be active, and be by the water.
Yarmouth, Massachusetts
A Cape Cod native raised in Chatham, I discovered my passions for wellness, healthcare, and breastfeeding through a series of life adventures. I earned my undergraduate degree in dance and theater from the University of New Hampshire. In 2016, I traveled to Maui to obtain my 200-hour yoga teacher training certification, a milestone that marked the beginning of my journey rather than the end. Returning home, I got married and welcomed my first baby in 2020, which introduced me to the world of breastfeeding. Motivated to better support my family, I enrolled at Cape Cod Community College in their Nursing Program, graduating just in time for the birth of my second child. I then joined Bass River Pediatrics, where I discovered my passion for pediatric nursing and community service. As I sought to further expand my career, I noticed a growing need for breastfeeding education within our community. This realization led me to complete a 95-hour Lactation Counselor training course and a 52-hour Breastfeeding Specialist training course in May 2024. My goal is to make every mother’s breastfeeding journey successful, practical, and patient-centered. Recognizing that each feeding journey is unique, I am committed to helping families overcome any obstacles they encounter.

I especially love offering continual care over the course of the breastfeeding journey. I am in network with Aetna, Mass General Brigham, United and Cigna.
