About me

Hi, I'm Kay! I am a Birth and Postpartum Doula in Cincinnati, Ohio, and a proud member of Marigold Birth Collective. My doula practice is centered around evidence based education, a strong belief that every birth can be improved by support, and a deep passion for learning and advocacy. One of my biggest goals as a doula is to convince the world that all birthing people can use a doula - doulas are not just for unmedicated births, vaginal births, or "crunchy" home births. I DO support those, but I also enthusiastically support medicated births, planned inductions, c-sections, VBACS, and all other flavors of birth. All birth deserves empowerment, education, and advocacy. My personal birth experiences with inductions, epidurals, VBAC, and planned c-section make me particularly suited to support these types of clients. In my free time, I love crafting, wrangling my three sons, and seeing live music with my husband.

I highly recommend Marigold Birth Collective! They helped me with both of my births and I can’t image it without them! I felt supported and encouraged throughout my whole pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Something that really stood out to me was how much they also supported my husband! So, so thankful for this team of doulas!

Hubby and I chose to have a home birth. Britt was phenomenal. It’s incredible to have someone there for YOU as the laboring mama. She kept chapstick on my lips, gave me sips of water, supplied essential oils, and continually offered gentle reminders to relax. She held my hand every step of the way. Thankful for this memory. <3

Morgan was a wonderful doula for a client of mine. I appreciated her calm sweetness in helping this beautiful mama bring her baby into this world! If you’re looking for a good doula, you’ve found her. 💕

I decided I was going to hire a doula this pregnancy just because I wanted to be a little bit more prepared and educated going into this birth unlike my last. God gave me an absolute peace about working with Kay before we even said hi to each other when we first met. All of a sudden, with her by my side, the noise of all things pregnancy and anxiety that follows that, quickly came to a halt. She talked me through every decision, every appointment, every question, and every emotion that came up. I became empowered, educated, and confident leading up to labor. As soon as I texted Kay telling her I was going to be medically induced last minute due to blood pressure reasons, she was at the hospital in 30 min so ready to be by my side, ready to work, ready to support me no matter how long labor took. She even taught Chris how to help me too so that he could be more involved in the laboring process and it was really nice feeling that kind of intimacy with my husband ❤️ Kay knew how important it was to me that labor would be fun and light hearted and upbeat, and she brought nothing short of that to the room. There were some moments, I’ve never laughed harder 🥹 Of course, there were some scary moments too. Kay knew me well enough to know when I started to become overwhelmed and every time, never hesitated to jump in and talk to the anxiety and replace it with encouragement. She knew exactly how to talk me down. She was there to do a job and boy did she deliver! But the most special part of it all is that I gained such a sweet friend. She cares so much and loves my family so hard ❤️ to say I’m forever grateful for the work she put in on all fronts is never going to sound like enough to me! Words cannot express! It is an absolute honor and privilege to know her and to have been able to share these moments with her! I will always look back at these images with fondness and joy in my heart! ❤️ Kay and the rest of the hard working women of the Marigold Birth Collective was the biggest reason why my birth was an absolute dream and an experience I’ll never forget. Many many MANY thank yous!!!

Brittney was such a calm and trusted presence throughout labor and birth and helped us feel incredibly prepared going into it for the first time. She was always available for questions, especially when figuring out if I was going into labor. She knew exactly when to provide encouragement and was so reassuring throughout. I cannot recommend her enough!! My husband took a little bit of convincing to hire a doula but later said hiring Brittney was 1000% worth every penny.

Brittney was an amazing doula! The very night we met her, we knew we wanted to work with her! Hiring Brittney gave us such peace of mind. You don't know which Dr. or nurses will be available when you give birth, but you can be confident that your doula will be! Brittney shared pregnancy/birth/postpartum information with us through two classes in the 3rd trimester. She also made herself available, even to late-night texts as time drew near. Finally, she was an amazing calm, watchful presence for us during birth. She helped advocate for my husband and I, and brought us such comfort. A few days postpartum, we needed some extra support. We reached out to Brittney, and she came over (this service was part of the bundle we paid for, and it was sooooo worth it!). 20/10, I would recommend Marigold Birth Collective! I'm so grateful I was able to find a doula who shared my birth philosophy!

Morgan supported me through two births, and after my first experience with her, there was no question I wanted her there again. She was calming when I felt overwhelmed, directive when I needed guidance, and such a strong advocate throughout labor and delivery. Some of the things that stood out most about how she helped were the tennis ball counter pressure, massage between pushes, helping me stay calm when I felt nauseous, and just always seeming to know exactly what I needed in the moment before I even said it out loud. My husband and I both felt genuinely supported the entire time. Having Morgan in the room made such a difference in both of my birth experiences, and I’m incredibly grateful for her care, presence, and support. I will absolutely hope to have Morgan again at any future births I may have 🤍

Truly a wonderful experience with Brittany. When we were lost and overwhelmed during extended early labor, she totally stepped into the gap. Worth every penny, especially early in pregnancy, eased many anxieties and knew when to have me call my OB
