Considering a birth doula that is present in early and active labor. I will deliver in Lees Summit MO at Saint Luke’s East. My budget depends on if split payments are an option, preferably under $800 total. I do not have a specific birth plan, I’ve received epidurals in the past, the goal is to not receive the epidural and be able to move around. This is my 4th pregnancy and my husband is not very hands on during the laboring process, he gets nervous about hurting me or baby and just overall uncomfortable. This is why I am considering a doula for extra support. I have history of severe PPD so postpartum service for emotional support would be a plus. (Preferably one home visit postpartum).
