With nearly a decade of experience serving women in the DFW area, BirthPointe stands as a premier women’s health and birth center. Our facility features three exquisitely designed birth suites, and our dedicated certified nurse midwives are here to provide compassionate care. Additionally, we offer monthly educational classes to support and empower women throughout their journey. Traci Santangelo MSN APRN CNM: Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University and started my career working in a local Labor & Delivery Unit. I then married a Yankee (don’t hold it against me), and he moved me to Detroit, Michigan, then to Miami, Florida, and finally to Chicago, Illinois—all for his exciting career. It was at the University of Illinois at Chicago that I received my Master’s in Nursing with a Midwifery designation and developed a deep desire to move back to the Lone Star State. I was tired of being cold! During that time away, I had two children (who have my heart completely), worked in some incredible hospitals as a Labor Nurse, and really developed a desire to serve women. Birth has always been my passion. I love every part of it! From the first positive pregnancy test, to watching a mother hear her baby’s heartbeat for the first time, to hearing that same baby cry at birth—I find all of it exciting and am in constant awe of how perfectly we are made to carry and birth a baby. I am a complete geek when it comes to the physiology of human development and can’t help but talk about developmental milestones because they are fascinating. Why wouldn’t you want to know everything about your baby?! I never tire of it. And I never tire of a woman’s need to feel validated, heard, and respected. You deserve that—you are a woman, for goodness’ sake! It is my great pleasure to serve women such as yourself at this time in your life. I want to give you the very best care I can provide, and I would be honored for the opportunity. Theresa Stryk MSN, APRN, CNM: Theresa grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She moved to Texas to pursue her Biology degree at the University of Dallas, where she also played volleyball. She received her BSN from Texas Woman’s University and worked in Labor & Delivery at Parkland before getting her Master’s in Nursing from Texas Tech University and becoming a CNM. She is married to her wonderful husband, Logan, and they have two daughters, Julie and Helen. Theresa has had the privilege of previously working in a NaProTechnology office, where she gained valuable insights into the remarkable benefits of Fertility Awareness-Based Methods (FABMs) for so many women. Through her experience, she has seen how these methods empower women to understand and manage their reproductive health. At BirthPointe, Theresa is dedicated to continuing her mission of educating others about FABMs, promoting awareness, and supporting women in making informed choices about their fertility.

If you are reading this while pregnant, you might already feel the weight of the "what-ifs." While you prepare for birth, you may also be quietly wondering: What happens when the visitors leave? I was born and raised in DFW. My family and friends mean the world to me. Having a sense of community is so important. My favorite people in the world call me Aunt Dani! In my free time I enjoy being outdoors, practicing hot yoga, working out, going to church, and sewing. My faith has definitely helped shape me as a midwife. Hallowed means regarded as holy or sacred. To me birth is a very sacred experience that should be treated as such. Before stepping into the role of a midwife, I spent nearly three years as a labor and delivery nurse in a hospital setting. It provided me with a solid foundation and invaluable experience, but I slowly came to realize that my values did not align with the hospital culture. When I moved to San Diego in 2018 I decided to leave the hospital and pursue my dream of becoming a midwife. During my training I truly fell in love with home birth. Witnessing a baby enter this world in the very place they will grow up is an incredibly special and sacred experience that deeply touches my heart. During my midwifery training, I made the decision to move back to Texas, wanting to be closer to my family and friends. After completing my midwifery education I began working at a birth center. The birth center was an amazing experience, but I am thrilled to embark on this next chapter of my career, returning to home births and reconnecting with families. This is where my true passion lies—to provide personalized, compassionate care that honors each family's unique needs and choices. I am genuinely excited to be a part of your journey, guiding you through the miraculous experience of childbirth with unwavering support, respect, and empowerment. I look forward to connecting with you!

Hello! I'm Melinda, wife to Seth, and mother to Abigail, Luke, Keturah, Naomi, Isaac, Elijah, and Mattias. While my family lived in South Africa(2018-2019), I was blessed to become a certified doula through their WOMBS (women offering mothers birth support) program. Along with in-person classes, I experienced hands-on doula opportunities with laboring women in 2 different hospital locations in Johannesburg. I believe this experience opened my heart to truly seeing the importance of having a strong support system during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. Children are a blessing from the Lord and every mother deserves the best through her pregnancy/delivery. I personally have experienced 3 hospital births, 2 birth center deliveries, and 2 home births. I am here to support you and help you make the most memorable and peaceful birth possible. If you are pregnant and would like the support of a doula, please reach out to me. I would love to meet you and see if I am the right doula for you.

Melinda is amazing! She was a calm, supportive presence throughout my pregnancy and especially during labor and after. She answers questions in a way that helps ease anxiety, and knows how to adapt to your needs in the moment! My baby's birth took us by surprise that resulted in an unplanned home birth and she was able to help me deliver my baby girl safely! As a first time mom, I highly recommend a doula and I loved having Melinda's support after baby was born too ❤️

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Valerie throughout my pregnancy, and I cannot recommend her enough. From the very beginning, she was attentive, compassionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to listen to my concerns, answer my questions, and provide both emotional and physical support every step of the way. Her calm presence and reassuring guidance helped me feel confident and prepared, even during the most overwhelming moments. What stood out the most was her ability to anticipate my needs before I even voiced them—whether it was offering comfort techniques, providing resources, or simply being a steady, encouraging presence. She made me feel truly supported, respected, and cared for during one of the most important times in my life. Thanks to Valerie, my pregnancy and birth experience were so much more positive and empowering. I’m deeply grateful for her dedication and would highly recommend her services to any expectant parent looking for compassionate, reliable, and skilled support.

I’m Carmen, a birth and postpartum doula living in Arlington, TX with my husband and two daughters. Birth work and bringing more equity to maternity care in the U.S. has been a passion of mine since I first began my motherhood journey over ten years ago. Now more than ever, doulas play a critical role in helping ensure positive birth and postpartum outcomes for all birthing persons, where they feel empowered and fully supported in every scenario. I look forward to nurturing and supporting you throughout your birth and postpartum journey and beyond.

I truly cannot imagine my birth experience without Carmen! Hiring her was hands down one of the best decisions I made. From pregnancy through postpartum, she cared for me in a way that felt both professional and deeply personal. During pregnancy, she checked in often, answered my questions with patience, and helped me feel calm and prepared instead of anxious and overwhelmed. During labor, she was steady, grounded, and completely tuned in to me. She basically took the lead on positioning me and guiding my movements in the hospital. She was constantly adjusting me into thoughtful, intentional positions that helped my labor progress and the nurses were following her suggestions. That gave me so much confidence. I didn’t have to think. I didn’t have to manage anything. I could just focus on resting and trusting the process because she was fully present and advocating for what my body needed!! And then postpartum… she didn’t disappear. She showed up. She nurtured. She cared. She even made the most amazing dinner for my family that we all enjoyed which, as a newly postpartum mom, felt like the biggest gift!! It wasn’t just about birth support. It was about being mothered while I was becoming a mother again. If you are looking for someone who is knowledgeable, calm, non-judgmental, and truly in your corner no matter what your birth looks like she is that person. I felt safe and supported, and TRULY nurtured every step of the way. I’m so grateful for her!!!🤍

My name is Kiara Thomas, and I am the Certified Senior Lead Birth and Postpartum Doula and founder of Love How You Heal. I proudly serve families throughout the DFW metropolitan area and Oklahoma, offering compassionate, affirming, and holistic doula care rooted in dignity, advocacy, emotional safety, and education. My journey as a doula began over five years ago through a deep calling to support families during one of life’s most sacred and transformative seasons. I believe birth and the postpartum period are not merely medical events, but profound transitions that deserve to be honored with presence, intention, and respect. I am also a mother of five children, all of whom I birthed naturally. My personal birthing experiences deeply inform my approach to care and reinforce my belief in the body’s innate wisdom. I am passionate about creating spaces where mothers feel safe, supported, and empowered to trust their bodies, their intuition, and their unique journey. At Love How You Heal, we believe wholeheartedly that when the mother is cared for, the baby is cared for. Our doula services are thoughtfully designed to be affordable, flexible, and supportive, meeting families exactly where they are without judgment or pressure. As a birth doula, my services include prenatal education, Lamaze breathing techniques to support natural childbirth, personalized birth plan creation, continuous labor support, physical comfort measures, advocacy, and intentional partner support. My role is to protect the birthing space so a mother feels free to surrender, soften, and allow her body to do exactly what it was designed to do whether at home, a birth center, or in a hospital setting. My care philosophy is deeply rooted in holistic healing. I incorporate practices such as aromatherapy, meditation therapy, sound therapy, and water therapy to promote grounding, relaxation, and emotional regulation. This holistic approach extends beyond birth and into everyday support throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period. Postpartum care at Love How You Heal centers on rest, recovery, and emotional well-being. Services include daytime and overnight newborn care, lactation guidance and education, newborn care assistance, emotional check-ins, and nervous system support. As part of our postpartum offerings, mothers may also receive complimentary relaxation-focused therapies such as back, leg, and foot massage to reduce tension, support healing, and promote restoration after birth. I have had the honor of supporting diverse families, including first-time parents, growing families, single parents, and families from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. My approach is inclusive, trauma-informed, and affirming, always personalized to each family’s values, needs, and birth preferences. Love How You Heal offers complimentary 30-minute consultations, providing space for mothers and families to ask questions, explore their desires, address concerns, and feel fully informed before committing to care. I believe childbirth can be a positive, empowering, and deeply rewarding experience and that it is simply more time spent with your baby before they take their first breath into the world. It is my honor to walk alongside families with care that honors their strength, resilience, and unique journey into parenthood.

There are truly no words big enough to express how grateful I am for Kiara Thomas with APS and Treichae. During one of the most emotional and vulnerable seasons of my life, they became my village when I had no family or friends in town. They didn’t just provide postpartum and overnight newborn care they showed up with genuine love, compassion, and heart. One of the most touching moments was when they surprised me with a baby shower after my daughter was born. Knowing I had no support system nearby, they went out of their way to make me feel celebrated, seen, and cared for. That alone meant more to me than I can ever fully explain. They were truly on call 24/7, always available to answer my questions, calm my worries, and support me as a new mom. When my baby girl struggled to latch the way I had hoped for breastfeeding, Kiara provided reassurance, education, and emotional support without judgment reminding me that I was doing my best and that my baby was loved and thriving. On top of everything else, Kiara was incredibly understanding of my financial situation and worked with me to make care affordable without ever making me feel uncomfortable or ashamed. That level of compassion and flexibility is rare and deeply appreciated. Kiara and Treichae didn’t just care for my baby they cared for me. I will forever be thankful for the role they played in my postpartum journey and would recommend them to any family looking for support that goes far beyond expectations.
