About me

If you value both evidence and intuition, I might be the doula for you. I love helping clients combine research and their own instincts to make decisions that are right for them. Furthermore, I might be the doula for you if you want support without an agenda. I don’t believe there’s an ideal way to approach birth or postpartum adjustment. I’m here to understand and support whatever path you want to take.

Service introduction

I’m grateful to have become a birth and postpartum doula after several other life chapters (Peace Corps volunteer; elementary and high school teacher; university lecturer and researcher). What I love most about “doula-ing” is what I love most about teaching: both ask us to set ourselves aside, listen more than we speak, and center the well-being of another. It also makes me happy to put my research expertise to work helping clients understand the evidence around common interventions. As a birth doula, I provide physical, emotional, and informational support during pregnancy, labor, and the immediate postpartum period. If you have a partner, I also support them as they support you. And I center your wishes in hospital settings and help you advocate for your preferences. (I am familiar with and enthusiastic about the Spinning Babies(R) approach.) As a postpartum doula, I provide in-home support during the first few weeks to ease postpartum recovery and integration of your baby into the family.

Glory was my daughter’s doula, and she helped bring my very first grand baby into the world. You can only imagine how scared and nervous I was, though I tried not to let my daughter see it. I worried I wouldn’t be the support she needed, and my anxiety was overwhelming. But the moment Glory walked in, everything ran so smoothly and I felt I could breathe. She was incredibly knowledgeable and informative about all things labor, which instantly gave us peace of mind. Glory wasn’t just there for my daughter, she was also there for me, keeping me calm and reassured. She advocated for anything and everything my daughter wanted during labor, making sure her voice was heard and respected every step of the way. On top of her guidance, she came prepared with thoughtful equipment like soft lighting and white noise, which transformed the cold, bland hospital room into a more comfortable and soothing space, for my daughter, and everyone else in the room, as well.

During labor, Glory’s presence was calming and encouraging. She supported my wife with comfort measures, breathing techniques, and guidance that truly made the experience more positive and empowering. For me as a partner, she also made sure I felt included and confident in how I could best support my wife. I thank god glory got to be there while me and my partner needed her the most

I am part of a program that supports pregnant women in need of shelter. Glory, without hesitation, generously dedicated her time and expertise. I can’t begin to describe how incredible she was throughout my labor and delivery. Her prenatal classes were not only informative, but also calming and reassuring—especially if you struggle with anxiety about labor. During my delivery, Glory made the entire experience smoother and more comfortable, not just for me but also for my loved ones. She was by our side every step of the way, offering support, comfort, and guidance. I truly believe that her knowledge, presence, and care played a huge role in making my delivery such a positive experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Glory to anyone who has the opportunity to work with

Working with Glory was amazing. She listens to your wants and needs and makes sure that your priorities are met. I was very unsure on how I wanted to give birth initially.. I was in between an induction and a C-section. I was also really iffy about breast-feeding. Glory helped me understand each procedure to the fullest. Once I made my decisions, she supported me fully. I had a great birthing experience and I truly don't think I would've had this if it wasn't for Glory supporting me. I ultimately chose a C-section and Glory was there every step of the way. She prepared me for surgery so I wasn't as nervous as I would've been. She also provided some overnights to give me a chance to heal after surgery. I am beyond grateful for her. She is so nice and I truly hope that we remain friends after this experience! If you are questioning getting a doula, I would not. It is the support I truly needed. I would also highly recommend Glory.

Glory was amazing to work with and such an invaluable member of our birth team– before, during, and after our son's birth. She is so warm, caring, and helpful– while also being extremely thorough and detail oriented. It was the perfect combo for us and made the whole birth process less intimidating for us as first time parents. We met a couple times during my pregnancy, and she guided us through developing our birth plan, explaining all our options along the way and helping us understand what to expect. She also included my partner at every step along the way and empowered him to know how best to support me on the day. It also helped that we felt a strong personality match and loved her sense of humor throughout. She always made herself available to us for questions, which ended up being crucial as my pregnancy timeline evolved ans our plans shifted. I can't imagine how differently my labor and delivery experience would have been without her guidance and support. We can't thank her enough and would recommend her to anyone.

Glory was our night nanny for the first six weeks with our newborn. Her calming and reassuring presence was an absolute blessing, and I don't know how we would have navigated these early weeks as first-time partnes without her. Glory provided nurturing care overnight while we were able to get much needed rest. Just knowing our baby was in capable, loving and rested hands allowed us to relax. Beyond overnight care, Glory taught the basics of newborn parenting, patiently answered questions and offered advice on swaddling techniques and feeding and sleeing routines, all of which helped us gain confidence as new parents. Glory's warm and supportive approach to our baby and to us was greatly appreciated, and we learned so much. It was a bittersweet moment saying goodbye after what felt like too short of time with Glory's care. If you are a new parent considering a night nanny and postpartum support, we couldn't recommend Glory more for her gift of nurturing, rest, confidence and peace of mind.

My daughter just delivered a healthy baby girl and Glory was there every step of the way (before delivery, during, and after delivery) in a most compassionate and professional manner. She is the best of both worlds - loving and compassionate like a best friend would be; but incredibly knowledgeable and professional in her approach which promotesd the best kind of trust and respect from both my daughter and myself. Glory is in love with what she does, and it shows in every conversation and every action. Her main focus was always my daughter, working seamlessly with the nurses and doctors for a most lovely experience. I highly recommend her services. Thank you, Glory!

I HAD GLORY AS MY DOULA AND IT MADE SUCH A HUGE DIFFERENCE!! WE MET A COUPLE TIMES BEFORE THE BABY WAS BORN AND SHE WALKED ME THROUGH ABOUT WHAT TO EXPECT IN LABOR AND WE MADE A BIRTH PLAN TOGETHER AND SHE ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS I HAD!! DURING LABOR SHE ALWAYS MADE SURE I HAD EVERYTHING I NEEDED AND WAS COMFORTABLE. SHE ADVOCATED FOR ME AND MADE SURE I KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON. SHE PLAYED CALMING MUSIC AND HAD A GLOW LIGHT WHICH MADE EVERYTHING SO PEACEFUL. WHEN IT WAS TIME FOR BABY TO COME SHE DID BREATHING EXERCISES WITH ME WHICH HELPED TREMENDOUSLY. SHE CAME AFTER I GOT HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL AS WELL AND WATCHED MY BABY WHILE I WAS ABLE TO EAT AND SHOWER. GLORY HAS BEEN SO AMAZING WITH ANSWERING ALL MY QUESTIONS AND SUPPORTING ME AND MY BABY THROUGH POSTPARTUM. IM TRULY SO GRATEFUL TO HAVE HAD SUCH AN AMAZING DOULA AND BIRTH EXPERIENCE.

My wife and I used Glory as our postpartum doula for several weeks following the birth of our son. She was incredibly helpful to us. We knew we wanted to wait a few weeks after our son was born before hosting our families, but as first time parents we also had a ton of “now what?” questions after getting home from the hospital. Glory helped us bridge that gap. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing there was someone there to help us through those early days, which can feel really overwhelming. She helped us get comfortable with the basics of feeding, diaper changing, swaddling, holding and soothing — all the things it takes some time before you fed confident as first time parents. Her focus was on helping us feel confident and figuring out our own methods for everything. She is extremely knowledgeable, caring, and easy to communicate with. We knew she was going to be an amazing help to our family from our very first meeting with her. I would highly recommend her services to anyone.

First time mom. I cannot say enough good things about Glory’s support leading up to and during the birth of my baby boy. She is thoughtful and attentive to your birth plan and goals, and also provides information on different options without pushing you in any specific direction. She is so calm and steady, it helped me and my husband stay calm and present during the birth process. Cannot recommend enough.
